uber is launching a premium helicopter service that promises to get me to the airport in only eight minutes but at $200 is that worth the price and the time so I can take an uberx to go to the hotel that I want to go to at JFK and I’ll get there in about 40 minutes the copter ride is two hundred and five dollars the flight is eight minutes but by the time we factor getting to the helipad it’s telling me 11:45 which is actually five minutes later than just taking a car around the time minutes ago this is about we are now approaching the [Music] so what’s the difference between uber air and uber copter so uber copter is the product that’s available right now between lower Manhattan and JFK that you can book and that we’re now opening up to all users of the uber app and uber air is this future product that we are going to launch once we have these new types of vehicles available and so you could imagine goober copter is kind of being the first version of that future product that is fundamentally what we think of as multimodal so when I opened up the app I saw I could take a $200 a helicopter ride or I could take an uberx which could get me in around the same time maybe even less for only $60 so can you talk a little bit about how you can justify the cost of that sure so we actually are only going to be offering offering or operating the the copter service in the afternoon during congested times and so the operating window we from 2:00 to 5:00 or 2 to 6 on certain days the only show copter as an option to our riders when it’s going to save you time our technology behind the scenes can weave together our network of cars on the ground with the air vehicles in this case the helicopter so that you can seamlessly transition from a car to the helicopter to a car to get to the final destination completely sequenced and figured out by our technology behind the scenes you
