I’m so pumped right now over to focus
the bald eagle is one of the most
recognizable birds on the planet but a
lot of people don’t realize they are
master fishermen so I’ve come to where
this Inlet narrows and the nutrients are
concentrated and that’s why a pair of
bald eagles have made their nests tick
it’s a really good hunting ground I’ve
just spotted them with my binoculars and
they’re looking beautiful sitting up in
their trees but that’s not the shot that
I want to get the shot I actually want
to get is a shot of them catching a fish
off the surface of the water the only
problem is this is a really really
difficult shot because you got to keep
them in the frame but then as they come
in you’ve got to keep them focused as
well see this is frustrating because
I’ve just witnessed an absolutely
incredible bit of animal behavior yeah I
messed up they come in so fast you’ve
got to be so precise but I missed it and
now I’m really frustrated and I should
be ecstatic that I’ve just seen such an
incredible thing lucky for me these guys
love snatching up what local fishermen
consider junk fish so I should get a few
more chances to nail the shot or
stocking up
that was pretty incredible I think this
time and they older bald eagles are
precise hunters it kind of blows my mind
how good they are at snatching fish from
the water but that’s not the only thing
their wingspan is so much bigger than
you think they really are enormous birds
when they’re coming in they’re banking
in nice and gently and then all of a
sudden there’s like a critical moment
when their wings logged-in fighter jet
landing gear down and then they put the
speed brakes on their wings come out and
then their eyes are locked on that fish
the whole way into the dive
my camera slows everything down by six
times simply play it back in real time
you suddenly realise just how fast these
birds can move they come out of nowhere
and her brain doesn’t suspect a thing
and sometimes neither do i how could you
see that one of them was coming down
four and then its mate just came out of
nowhere that I was I was fooling the
other bird that was coming from the
left-hand side as it was soaring it and
then just out of nowhere this this
heather eagle appeared in my viewfinder
and the only reason I knew was cover as
good as I heard the wind in its wings
that was absolutely incredible light one
of the coolest things I have ever seen I
am so pumped right now hey everyone
